No trimming just felling... trim after they are on the ground and yes it is very dangerous work and not taken lightly by us. Felling dead trees is the most dangerous of all look at my serious face in my avatar lol.

I’ve got several dead ones I need to get down this fall... think I’ll use a cable and tractor to help them in the right direction ... but it makes me nervous all the same

I like to smack them with the bucket to break off any loose branches then get Ricky to sound the tree with his hammer to see if it is hollow. He was a phone guy that is trained in sounding poles. If they are big enough for felling wedges that helps a lot.

Well ya. . tree felling is worster than trimming. :hmm
J has worked on and off for a tree service for many years. . I've held my breath many times watchin them guys fell trees. It never gets any easier to breathe. . .
 
Woke up to more tobacco hornworms in the raised beds but none on the deck planters.
