OMG me too. I have 7RIR hens and 7 RIR roo's, Black turken mix roo. ( well 12 hens rir i got march 17/09) all others were born march 24th. I am keeping 10RIR hens.
I also have a black cochin roo and a baby splash ish turken roo ?with a crookity beak. I am not sure if he was born that way or it was caused when he got out of the cage with mom at 1 day old
and the others (adults)attacked him, all but shattered the side of his face, he lived and is ok now. another splash ish roo? not sure about that one. They were born on Easter. 3 of them in that clutch.
Sorry run on.lol

I am so excited to get some more breeds seperated. We will try and work on that today and hopefully if all goes well will get it done, LOL. Things never seem to go that smooth though.

Still looking for some hatching eggs, preferably standard cochins or buff brahmas in Missouri.

Um we don't have much planned for today.

1) go to Orschelns and pick up 3 week old buff orp chicks CHEAP!!or is that cheep and mneral for the cattle
2) tie up show cattle and work them
3) build chick pens outside so they can get fresh air and grass and bugs
4) do laundry
5) go swimming
6) relax on the deck with a big pitcher of sweet tea!!!

that does not sound like too much to tackle does it?

Sounds like a day full of work, but I will be there about dark to sip some sweet tea with you. Seems like around here most people vacation on long weekends, but we just plan an extra day of work.

We will get a break as we need to drive to cemetaries and put out flowers. I really enjoy doing this and can remember doing this with my mom and grandmas from when I was very little. Really want to pass on that sense of responsibility to my children. Lest we forget!

WOO HOO!!! Yes she is ready to get rid of some chickies....

I counted up and I have 41 to bring you. Mostly orps but a few Buckeye and RIR....I still cannot tell those two breeds apart as chickies yet.

She will have a separate box for the quail and then you can use the one she brings the chicks in to put the poults in! COOL....

I am in the doghouse...DH is excited to get some chickies gone but he said I DON'T WANT TURKEYS!!!

Hey DD said a couple of the little guys were kind of not looking so good. I wonder if they got cold on the trip up. GRRRR...I almost tossed in an extra one just in case of that. Darn. Let me know how they do when you get heat back on them.
