The first five babies. There are now 3 more in incubator hatched today, one day late.
There will be 4 Spitzhauben and 4 Sprights....

Our first batch of baby blue birds fledged today... thats four days ahead of last year.

The “whiskered death” was in the garage, so they were safe as they crash landed into the yard ... and one of them on the front porch... until they all got up into the trees.

I saw my first one yesterday (Tuesday) while I was cutting the grass. At first I thought it was a rock that the lawnmower kept hitting. Fortunately, I didn't do it any damage and when I moved on ( after figuring out it wasn't a rock), it too moved on!

They need to have a boo emoji. It’s was 39 here too. The pullet chicks that have been in the transition coop outside for 3 weeks got a cold surprise this morning.
