once a month. You should be able to come across 24 and get there quicker than going all the way to hannibal. Look it up on mapquest. they do this once a month and in May and Aug I think they have an extra sale. I have the listing at work and will let you know when the next one is. Come on up....it is fun!
Hi Everyone. I live about an hour north of St Louis. I'm new to the site as well to raising chickens. And it is quickly becoming an addiction. My neighbor and I started off with a few chicks from Orchlens in March and some how we now have almost 50. All ages all kinds but my favorites are Bantam Cochin and Barred Rock. They have such sweet personalities. I just love them.
Absolutely love the light brahmas! By any chance do you sell hatching eggs. I have some pullets that I got from the hatchery, but they ended up being very muddy. Would love to get a better quality Brahma.
I currently have no roosters, so I can't sell any eggs. I accidently locked a couple of goat kids in the chicken house and unfortunately the preferred feather beds. (I had a couple of birds that preferred to still sleep on the floor of the coop). A freak goating accident, I guess you could say, LOL! Sadly only a few days before this I rehomed several birds including a couple of roosters.
I got my first flock from a hatchery and they were some nice birds. I fell in love instantly. The roosters are massive but I've never had one that wasn't gentle. I would order again from Cackle, but now I prefer the challenge of hatching so I ordered some hatching eggs from a member here. Hopefully I can get some to hatch and get a replacement rooster.
I guess I will have to get some eggs from here also. I was wanting to have the least shipping distance possible, since the weather is trying to heat up.
