We found a big fat green caterpillar yesterday. Not quite like that, nor quite like a hornworm. I gave it to the matriarch hen who, unlike the others, is non-squeamish about such things. She ate it.I was reading about that moth... and it said the caterpillars are called ‘hickory horned devils’

Actually it said they feed on hickory, walnut, sumac and a few other trees... not tomatoes
