calling any one from missouri

Holy smokes... I was just winding down and then heard something... thought something was after the chickens...

Turns out it was Eleanor celebrating a successful mission... I found her yodeling to the kittens with a rodent at her feet, then she fed them all ...

then little Bess ( the runt) gave the vole ‘what for’ like it had splashed mud on her granny!

We went out at 4:30 am to see the comet in the NE sky. We used binoculars. Comet Neowise, visible 80 min before sunrise in the NE, (or after tomorrow, 80 min after sunset in the NW right below the Big Dipper.) You should be able to see it at night for another month. Then it won't be back for 7000 years.
this is a screenshot off the internet.

It did not look that clear here. It is hazy, and we needed binoculars. Even the brightest stars don't look bright.

as we were playing ‘five kittens put away, where the heck is number six?

I played that game the other night at bed time... counting 1 through 11 a bunch of times going inside for a better flashlight... searching, searching and thinking over and over there's no way that chicken got out of Chicken Fort Knox Deux. Finally dawned on me to look up in the rafters and there she was sitting on the brooder wall that is stored up in the rafters.

I don't like staying up 80 min after sunset, so I'm glad I saw it this am. However, DH has a nice telescope which we plan to set up one of these nights.
Here's an article on the comet.

I’m gonna make sure and look for it!

I remember seeing the Hale-Bopp comet early in the mornings for several weeks back in the day, on the way to work ...

Just found an old video of the ‘Star Gazer’ ... I remember seeing him on the television way back in the 80s

We have some new orange-ness! We acquired some new tiger lilies this spring, but I forgot where I planted them for a while... they’re a different variety than the others we have... they bloom later and are more orange... and apparently a ‘double’ style bloom
