*** the doves we have in Missouri are Eurasian collared doves not ringneck doves.
I knew that. I always forget and call them ring neck doves. They look just the same to me in pictures.
anywho I thought I would correct myself I cannot believe that Ozark did not school me on that slip up already.

I've never seen those! Only the mourning doves, which I incorrectly call morning doves.

I have not but a buddy used to tell me he would hunt them down by the creek around sunset when they would all go down to get a drink of water... which reminds me of the movie My Cousin Vinnie.

And so we had to empty it all out again. We ended up lining the pond liner with plastic. And then we put some kind of rubber stuff on top of the plastic to keep the rocks from poking holes in the plastic.

That reminds me of when I was building my house, it was rainy and I was building the walls laying down and covering them up with plastic. The sharp rocks would stick to my shoes and put holes in the plastic... it took me 3 layers of plastic to figure out where the holes were coming from.

doh! I think I’d looked that up in the past too... I guess it’s collared doves I hear in small towns... my FIL used to call them ‘turtle doves’ either way

I’ve had mourning dove in the past, but it’s been a lot of years ago... I don’t really recall what it tasted like though
