It just started snowing here...

Our poor little new Japanese maple was ravaged by our cats/kittens ( cattens?) who broke off the middle branches ... I’m hoping the snow doesn’t accumulate and break it further

I used to watch Leon Redbone and Dr John on Christmas day when I was a child in Metairie La. Of course I assume it was recorded... I still listen to some of Leon's songs like Your Feets too Big, My Walkin Stick and others

JT

I had to look up Metairie... that sounded awfully familiar... my dad grew up in Raceland just 45 minutes or so down the road ...

most of the places down there I only know by name from listening to my dad and his brothers tell stories ( my mom’s family are ozarkers back one generation before the possum was invented, my dad’s people were Cajun tracing back to the Alsace-Lorraine region of France/Germany depending on which century it was)

I grew up with a bunch of his old 45s ( that us kids ruined 🥴) ... but Leon Redbone was one of our favorites... Leon just had the “old stuff”

Well the snow is trying to finish what the cats started with the little tree ... if only Shaw had warned me that Japanese maples were a struggle 😉

And the cats are just hanging out on their cushion in the garage annoyed that I woke them to talk about snow and Leon Redbone, lol

And here are our Virginia bluebells demurring to the snow...

Hi guys, remember me? I know it’s been awhile.

I love seeing all your pics. Thought I’d share some of today’s snow pics too. (Springfield area)

This was at 1pm
