Got a bit more done on the Elevated Dust Bath for the CQ's. Had to give up on using a lock miter router joint the bit is not correct so I switched to a lock miter dado joint done on the table saw.

Fit to the tubby a bit tight still need a bit of sanding.

Prototype for the legs

The first leg still needs sanding and rounding over the edges but I like the proportions.

The door to Coop Uno is acting up so gotta diagnose that tomorrow...

The RIR hens balked a bit last night at the red heat lamp but by morning it had been there all their life.

Got more done on the legs, just need to put pocket screw holes and round over the edges then I can glue them together. I made it high enough so the hens could run under it when being chased. You always need a back door...

I really like that! Great job!

I can testify to the cold, we've been doing horse chores for 2 hours every morning because the barn girl only comes Tue-Fri. Farrier came today. I don't know how she could hack it for 4 hours in that weather. Both Hubby and I are sick. First time I've been sick since Jan of 2020. Had a fever and chills with a head cold. Hoping it will be gone tomorrow. I can hack being sick but hubby is a total bear. The whole world must stop when he's sick LMBO

I put the Elevated Dust Bath in the run last night after everyone went inside. Didn't take them long to come outside after the door opened but no one has used it yet... they are still looking at it. Betty Boop has been on it once... a plate of scrambled eggs is a strong drawing card. After she got her fill I put the plate under the dust bath and most of the rest finished off the eggs.

I have to make some dispensers similar to the tree bowl between the feeder and dust bath for egg shells and oyster shells. Then I can put their wooden landing and ramp and git rid of the milk crate, block of wood and kennel bottom that I temperately used a year and a half ago...
