@SueT what am I looking for in her behavior to know she is no longer broody?

She was back in the corner with her tail up all morning but now she is just standing there giving me "the look".

She may look more restless, less dazed. To test I put the hen back w the flock and see if she gets back on the nest. Since mine all look so much alike, and I can’t see leg bands if they are on the nest, I dab some latex craft paint on top of their crests. While she is out of the cage, I use that opportunity to clean it and get it ready for her or another.
I keep a record. There have been 13 stays in broody jail so far this year! 3 of the hens have gone broody once a month since April. This is kind of crazy. 😵‍💫 It’s like a revolving door....

Ps to above
The hens never return right away back to nest. It could be a few hours, or at roosting time. I go out to the coop every couple hours and check. If paint head is on the nest, I scoop her up and back to jail she goes.

I had a cluster of Chocolate Sprinkles Cherry Tomatoes ready to pick... something else picked them for me.

So I had some 3/8" fiberglass rods and insulators but the ground was so hard I could only drive them in a few inches, not enough to support the hot wire so I cobbled up some scraps of PT to make a triangle brace for them. Something discovered the hot wire last night for sure.

LOL, that didn't take long... less than an hour and she turned the heat on and was back in the nest box. Victoria is back in the Chicken Klink.

Another option to consider is get her some fertile eggs to hatch. It’s really rewarding watching hens raise babies...If you don’t mind having more chickens, and inevitable young cockerels...

I'm maxed out with chickens right now, from time to time I get to see my neighbors hens leading a flock of chicks around and yes it's pretty cool to watch.

I need to make a sign "Just Say No to Roosters!"

Hello from NW missouri. I posted in the buy/sell/trade forum and was recommended to post here. If anyone is interested in a bantam easter egger cockerel, I have a beautiful fellow. Too many cockerels due to straight run.

Hi, hope you succeed in finding him a home. Check google for poultry swaps in your area....
I hate having to kill cockerels, or even sell at the swap, which is why I’m not hatching any more chicks.
