calling any one from missouri

Are you near Stockton Lake? What kind of chickens are you getting?
About 30 minutes. I should be relaxing on my boat right now, but it's raining! I have no idea what kind of chickens. My husband was told but forgot. The fellow who is giving them to us gave us eggs before. He now has over 80 chickens and he doesn't raise them for a living, so he's giving some away.

Curious if anyone has a coop that sits on dirt and how that does in the wet fall/winter. I'm so new at this. Our coop is a tractor style and they only sleep in it. But I'm worried the ground will be cold in Jan - Feb.
