The call ducks are really enjoying their free range time.
The hound keeps a watchful eye over them from his comfy seat while they waddle around.

We have crows that land in the yard outside the fence. Mason hadn't seen crows before i guess.
He can't understand why i don't go scare them away when if it were a hawk on the other hand I'd be throwing arms around.

Howdy! I'm in SE MO, too! About an hour south of you, a little west of Poplar Bluff.

Our oldest hen, Speck, likes to slip out occasionally when I’ve got the gate open carrying stuff into the run. It’s hard to corral her so I usually just let her free range. Wed evening, she had been out for hours. I was sitting by the chickens as the sun set. Speck was nearby, and suddenly the mama hen in the run growled, then froze. The youngsters froze, Speck froze. Suddenly a hawk swooped by about 10’ from us, then back into the trees. Little birds burst out of the trees in fright. Speck asked to go back in.
