The birds just fly right in the door lol so I've been keeping it shut for a few hours in the morning and then removing the food and opening it up.

The two hens have been staying in the nest box for the last month or so at night and last night they decided to go back to the coop... I wonder what's up with them.

13°F High: 20°F Sunny... going to burn a lot of wood today.

I spent a couple months in Fort Polk Louisiana in the army. It was November and December 1972. They had a snowfall that shut everything down and the people of the area were terrified.
I worked in Basic Training records with other GIs and Civilians. About half and half. They asked if any of the soldiers were from the north and had experience driving in snow. I was one of the volunteers to take all the civilians home in their respective cars after work that day. The next day we each returned to our respective charges' homes and drove them to work. By then, the half inch of wet snow from the day before was long gone.
It bordered on ridiculous.
