calling any one from missouri

Hey, Kathy, I have the opposite. I'm switching to all bantams, on account of my banties getting beat up by the big girls. If you don't have any takers, I'd trade you 3 standard hens (2 yr old kid friendly: 1 New Hampshire, 1 Buff Orp, and one crazy yearling Polish/Orp mix who looks like Road Runner) for the seramas......I posted them in the 'for sale' section, and saw your ad too and started thinking.......

teddiliza ...
Thanks, but I will have to pass on that. I HATE Polish ... I still have one roo here, but got rid of all the rest as soon as I could! Actually, I am working on breeder pens right now, and am trying to downsize to the ones I want to keep to breed. My oldest breeders (about 40 of them) are now nearing 20 weeks, so I need to begin picking and choosing! I am sure to have a few more for sale soon.

Fay ...
Was there a phone number with that Missouri State Poultry Assoc. Show ad? I am curious. I phoned my local extension office, and they act like they have never even heard of poultry! Geeez! I inquired to see there were any clubs, shows, breeders or information or anything at all.

I have never been to a swap, and they kinda scare me ... I worry about biosecurity. What are your thoughts on this?

For more info on the Missouri State Poultry Assoc, try emailing, Bernita. She is the secretary of the Missouri State Poultry Association Show.
Her email is [email protected]. I know theres a double show in Sedalia April 17th.

Kathy , Here is Bernita Miller site , it has her # on there to find out more info about the show. http://www.millerscochins.com/

Yes
, its always a must to worry about biosecurity .If going to swaps its always a good idea to wash and change before going into contact with your own flocks., And as you know quarantine any animal that you bring home for atleast 30 days.

Dont that just make you feel so good when your local extension office dont know nothing about poultry ,LOL thats bad bad.....

Does anyone know what the schedule is for the Keytesville show? Also, do they have other animals there? I am looking for some meat rabbits and the next show in my area isn't until mid-march. Keytesville wouldn't be too far for me to drive.

Thanks!!

I am in Palmyra, MO. (Just north of Hannibal.) My grandparents live in Keytesville so I think it would be a good chance to go visit and pick up some rabbits! Thanks for the info!
