calling any one from missouri

we've just been told the house and acreage we're leasing is going on the market, so I'm looking for a backup plan... I've got a friend in Crane, maybe 4 miles off the south west side, and went to see her this morning... we may be working out a deal where I lease some pasture, and we use my goats and sheep to clear some brush for her. it's a nice area.

I bought turkeys, ducks and guineas from a couple over in republic a couple of months ago... they had quite a large flock of everything for sale. I'll see if I've still got her number. there's also a guy who sometimes sells chickens in front of Paige's Feed in Marionville - I've bought from him, and they're good layers and calm easy to handle birds. I'll have hatching eggs and probably birds of various kinds once I let them set in the spring. and I'll probably be putting in a hatchery order in the early spring with one of the local hatcheries, so if you are interested, I'll post you and we can share the discount. what are you looking for specifically?

Hey Suesswhosechickens and zzGypsy I live in Marionville. Do either one of you know where Hillbilly Gas Mart is? I am about a block away across from the storage unit there at the cemetery. Nice to know there are others close who love chickens.

I'm in there most days getting petrol and breakfast-to-go on my way to work!
and sundays for cinamon rolls and breakfast with the Old Farmer's Club...

BTW... Best Cherry Pie Crust Ever! and not bad on the sweet potato fries either.

I drive through the cemetery at least once every day!
I have occasionally driven through the back road there to avoid the train, probably right past your house!
I live on ZZ... if you take that into Aurora, you've been right by my place!

Crane is a good area to live small town values. I'm interested in any kind of heritage turkey breeds We just lost our blue slate gobbler last night, reasons unknown. He was a healthy and pretty tame 1 1/2 yr old bird. Now we just have his 2 hens and looking for replacement. We got a really great deal on the trio from the amish in seymour. But thats a long drive and no certainty of them even being home with no way to contact them. And as far as chickens go anything really I like to buy in quanity (pullets and hens mostly) not trios or pairs. And would like to get into guineas haven't had any of them.
