Calling MissPrissy and DipsyDoodleDoo-- You're grandmas! New pics Pg 3

Dipsy Doodle Doo.....

All 3 of the NNF eggs hatched, and all three are as baldie necked as can be!!!!. They are SOOOO adorable!!!! So far I think it's 7 of the Ameraucana eggs that have hatched--I'm trying to stay out of the room!!! I'm ecstatic!!!! Well, well, well worth the wait!!!!!

Thank you, thank you , thank you!!!

A couple updated pics: The Ameraucana's weren't cooperating, and the lighting wasn't good, so the pics of them didn't work so well. In a few days I'll get better lit pics.

They're very pretty!!! The other eggs aren't doing anything so far, but I'm not surprised. We had some really cold weather that week, and I'm sure some of the eggs froze ( as well as one of DDD's eggs, I'm pretty sure froze too.). They'll stay in the incubator a couple more days anyhow to see what happens!!

Hi Annette! Wow congratulations! What are the odds of all three being NN? I just hatched 10 chicks from the NNFGE pen and got 5 NN and 5 feather necks.
You'll be able to see in a day or so if they are frizzling --- look for a bit of a curl in the new feathers coming in their wing-tips. I had to go in the brooder-room to actually count 'how many' from Thurs hatch and I can see the 'curl' already. I only checked the NN's, but 4 of the 5 are going to FRIZZLE.

I didn't know any of the eggs got in a situation where they could freeze. I'm sorry about that. The wrapping is usually such a great insulator that they aren't in danger of freezing even if they are exposed to freezing temps.

You did a super job incubating and hatching them --- give yourself a pat-on-the-back!
Thanks for the pics!

Freezing isn't your fault, by any means!!! I figured the insulation would do just fine too-- but we ended up with some VERY cold nights up here at that time. Of course, now it's very nice out, getting warmer, and we're about 4 weeks "ahead" of last year weather-wise-- go figure!!!

What I haven't mentioned thus far in this thread is-- my auto turner was "stuck" for 2 days before I knew it ( I was working a LOT and only got to check it about every 12 hours-- and it was at that time, of course, in nearly the same position) and we had a power outage overnight on a very cold night-- that I didn't wake up for. So, it goes to show that good hatches happen even in bad situations!!

Thanks again SOOOOO much!!
