Calling redhen!!! WE"VE GOT BUGS!!!

I sure hope you two are talking about mealworms or something along those lines and not about a new recipe you're trying out.

Should I put the pupae in a different box? Then these can grow into bugs, lay more eggs, etc. etc.? That way I'd have 2 different 'colonies' going, so there would be all different stages, right? Probably wouldn't hurt to have 3 boxes, but I'll need another box first

I'm only using shoe box size, so they don't take up much space.

Dad still doesn't know that I've got them

You can move the pupae into another box..i did..because i think the worms/beetles eat them sometimes..

but you dont have to...i had them all together before...and they did okay..

I'm thinking it would be easier to have different 'stages', since the pupae would (eventually) lay their eggs in the new box. But is that just not necessary?

ETA: Then once the little ones that are in the box they have now are bigger, they will lay eggs in this box, so they will be all different ages.

when the pupae turn into beetles then they'll lay the eggs. Then..i take the beetle bedding..after a while (with the eggs) and put the beetle bedding into the worm bin..so the eggs can hatch with the other worms..

burt again...you can do it ALL in one tub.. the cycle will still work..you dont have to seperate.
