I've had white Call ducks for...24 hours! Three babies hatched under a Cochin. Here is a pic:

What are the differences between pet and show quality?

There are a couple of good websites out there (forgive me for not having a link right now) that give some good points for show quality and pet quality differences.

One point is the necks - they should have a very short (almost none) neck and have roundish heads.

My pet quality babies have a little longer thinner neck and narrower heads.

as for other points to look for, do a google search for "standard of perfection Call duck" and maybe it'll show up.

ETA - easier to tell the neck when they are excited and extend their necks - when mine are acting normal, they don't appear to have a neck, but when they extend out - running, excited, etc.. - they do have necks.

that is a really nice looking duckling....better hang on to it.

you can really learn alot by attending shows near you and talking to other breeders. They are a big help and they love to talk about call ducks. You do want a big, round head, plump body....short neck, bill, and legs and a level body

Here is a drake we won champion waterfowl with several times last fall.

Yep, my body shapes on my calls are more like the pet quality - but I love them to pieces anyway
