A few years ago I had frogs and turtles. I started ordering a batch of 1000 live crickets at a time.

On my last order, the box arrived with my 1000 crickets. I left the box on the kitchen table while I had to go out for awhile.

While I was gone, my doxie-beagle jumped up on the table and tore the box to shreds. I came home to 1000 crickets loose in my house.

We were hunting crickets for weeks! I never ordered crickets again after that!

Take care,

Tami

Yep, that's them. Sorta look like fleas on steroids! I'll post pictures soon, Cyn. Today, I can afford to pay for the camera.

Can't wait to see them, Mark. Tried to take a picture this morning and my battery is dead. Can't believe I've run through the second battery in two months-those things are expensive! Plus, I really want a better camera, too. Ah, isn't poverty grand, LOL?!

Here are the little cricket killers!

Cyn, this first one is from one of your eggs:

She likes to eat from my hand. She bites, too. Purplechicken would probably bite her back.

I'm really trying to force some feather growth by cutting back on the heat a little more than I would if it were warmer out. They're in the basement, and I'll have the new coop done over the next week. I'd love to move them out in the next two weeks so I can get rid of all the dust they're making everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I love my girls, and having one or two inside is one thing. . . 29 is another.

Tami, that is my worst fear everytime I bring crickets home from the bait shop and I am only talking about a hundred or so, 1000?!!! Must have sounded like the best camping trip in your house for weeks!!!
