We have been keeping chickens for almost 4 years. I wanted a small fish pond and chickens. My husband gave me a choice. The chickens won. We feed only organics and the hens roam free only when I'm working in my gardens since I found out....almost too late....that the hawks and foxes are only too keen to snatch one. They eat lots of bugs, worms and keep me company as I weed and plant. We love their antics and

Lovely flock. Your hubby gave you a very difficult choice to make. What kind of fish pond were you looking for? Decorative? Or a pond that you could stock with fish for the dinner table?

Beautiful flock :)

G’Day from down under lchick :frow Welcome!

Ditto on what everyone else said .. your flock is adorable! We moved recently and dug up our ponds from the old house and bought them with us; we are just in the process of setting them up again. They are decorative, house small fish and I love the sound of the waterfalls into each of the ponds. Tell hubby I said they are easy to maintain and you can easily have ponds AND chickens ;)

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.
