Can’t tell what type of mite this is or is it lice? I have pictures

Thank you so much!! I ordered it and should get it today. My oldest hen is walking very slow looks kinda lethargic but comb is not pale today. I’m sure it’s from those mites. If I give them all nutridrench today will that help them. I know it won’t help with the mites but I’m hoping will give them a little vitamin boost. Or should I do just electrolytes in thier water?

I use it on my dogs.
It's labeled for dogs too.
As long as you're not spraying your cats with it it's fine to use in your chicken coop.
But no you should not spray your cat with it.
And don't let your cat in your chicken coop until it dries.

I will do this, thank you. I’m always leery about this with the other animals haaa. The cats sit with the chickens and hang out with them. I also get a lot of sparrows, finches and doves. I can’t keep them away. But my cats go for them.

They are mites, most likely red from sucking on your chickens during the night. I had the same thing a couple years ago. They were all over and I never noticed until I saw some on me after holding the poor chickens. Don't worry about it getting on your or clothes, they don't thrive off humans and I don't believe on dogs, either. I have a dog and it was never an issue with him. Just wash clothes and body as you usually do and should take care of that.
Editing to add: of course spray coop and birds, too. Kiki's advice is perfect for that. I was just trying to ease your mind about them getting in your house or on you I know it worried me!

Thank you. Being a chicken owner an every day learning experience. I hate bugs. So I can only imagine how my chickens must feel. The poor things.

x2! Once dry in the coop, the cats can go there. The permethrin concentrate is easy to use and works great, as mentioned.
When using anything out there, long sleeves, gloves, and at least an N95 face mask are essential. Spraying the birds at night, with a small flashlight, is easiest.
Here we are about to treat the group for the third time Monday. Those rotten wild sparrows come into the coop for the feed, and bring the mites...

That is a great idea about the clothes. I just walk in the coop and when I leave I find them on my clothes and everywhere. I’ll spray them all tonight so they are not freaked out. Thank you so much for the advice

Lock your cats out of the coop until everything is dry!!! And when you spray the birds, also lock the cats out. Permethrin toxicity in cats is dose related, and some cats have a very low tolerance for the stuff, so do use it, but be very careful.
Years ago we had two hens die before we realized that there were mites, and that's what killed them.
That night I went nuts and used permethrin dust on 35 birds, not wearing a good face mask. nearly ended up in the hospital, did have to go to urgent care because the asthma went wild.
Wear that N95 face mask!
And wash your clothes and shower to get the permethrin off you too! BTW, DE is also very dangerous to inhale...

Will do, thank you. I’ll be very careful. Ya im learning de isn’t the best thing to use. I thought it would be a deterrent, along with poultry dust for dirt bathing. Thank goodness I didn’t use a lot of it.

You might want to treat your chickens first then put them in a temporary coop or a chicken tractor. 2 of mine died during the treatment phase because it took weeks to get the mites under control.They didn't have the same type as yours.These were microscopic so I never saw anything.

When this happened to me, I cleaned out everything from the coop. I power washed it down, I mean every nook and cranny of the coop. Let it dry, sprayed some permethrin, treated the girls and have never seen another mite since then.

Good idea, I will see what I have around to make a temp coop. I’m so sorry for your loss, I bet that was deviating. it is still warm outside, so they don’t get too cold and coop will air dry fast I hope.

I just got all the bedding out, I’m thinking to wash everything down with dawn soap including the outside of coop. Then when it drys I’ll use the Permethrin to spray it all down even outside of coop. I can’t burn the bedding unfortunately do to my city ordinance “dry season” so I have to put in the garage bins for the street. I’ll spray those too. I don’t want them coming back
