Can I use both or is that too much? I can try one if it doesn’t work and they come back then I’ll try the other, my main thing was I couldn’t figure out what they were and what to use. I haven’t had this before. I had gotten a chicken first aide kit together for emergencies that is why I have elector psp and ivermectin. Now I can add permethrin to my first aide kit. But if one doesn’t work hopefully the others will. You have Elector PSP. Use that.

How fast does it work? I have sprayed and cleaned coop and my chickens. And I’m still seeing mites. They are not as thick as the first time, but I see them on my chickens. I can actually see them on the outside of their feathers. Is there something I can use that is fast acting to kill them on contact?Elector PSP to treat housing and chickens.

Thank you, I understand. I use 9ml to a gallon of elector psp. I ordered hen & stable spray. I should be getting it soon. I figure I’ll do this for a couple weeks then move to permethrin. So they don’t build a resistance. I have never had them before. I have saturated every part and floor of my coop. I have a metal roof and the coop is about 7’ tall. Haaa I even did the top of the coop. I have a lot of wood cracks, but I soaked it all day on Thursday then I repeated on Saturday. Hoping the new ones that hatched are dying off. I spray them and I just see them move a scurry to the cracks. I just have to not get discouraged. I read somewhere it sometimes takes a year to get rid of them blehhhhYou will win this fight! Yes, spinosad is fine, just way more expensive! Use either, and make sure you are using the right dilutions for what you are doing. If your birds are going outside, they may be picking up more mites there during the day. Or your wild bird visitors are bringing more in.
And those mite eggs will hatch daily, so it can take a while to get them all as they hatch out. It would probably take a flamethrower to kill all those eggs!!! DON'T GO THERE...
Have you sprayed every inch of your coop, every little crack in the walls and ceiling?
All the best...

Also, does wood ash really help in their dirt bathing area? Or is seven dust better? You will win this fight! Yes, spinosad is fine, just way more expensive!
