So I heard that your supposed to vaccinate chicks for mareks when they are just 1 day old and I was wondering if 1 and a half month old chicks can get the mareks vaccine still?I heard people say that the vaccine might not help when they are older so I’m wondering if I can still vaccinate them.

There is a lot of confusing information out there on Marek's vaccine. You can vaccinate chickens for Marek's at any age, however it may do no good unless the chicken has never been exposed to the virus.

The vaccine is not perfect. It provides an opportunity for a chicken to develop resistance to the virus. It does not provide immunity. This means that a vaccinated bird can still get the virus and even pass it on to unvaccinated birds. Vaccinated birds are far less likely to develop symptoms if they are exposed.

This is a very good piece that clears up a lot of the questions on the Marek's vaccine. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/science/tthis-chicken-vaccine-makes-virus-dangerous
