I have a small brooding coop i use around the same size of yours i have 3 birds in it right now i removed the other 3 from the hatch because it was starting to get a little cramped in there for them. You wont ever have to worry about the cold i live up north in canada and non of my birds have suplemental heat source. Espcially in a coop of that size there body heat would be more then enough to keep the coop warm. Outside of that i have never seen it cold enough that a bird would die fromt he cold. Even a couple weeks ago i forgot to close up a ventilation hatch on my silkies i went out the next morning to find a coop covered inside in snow and the little guys huddled up in the corner. Im sure it wasnt a confortable night for them but there known as less cold hardy birds and it didnt hurt them one bit. Just a note i double check each night now that i lock up the ventlation hatches it may not of killed any of them but im sure it wasnt to confortable for the poor girls.
