Just getting a new batch of chicks in and hate the watering bowl mess. Gonna try it and see what happens.

Put it where they can have good access to it, and show them what it is, and they will be right on it. If you have it close to where they huddle, they would probably find it in a hurry, but I would advise you to take them in hand, and make it dribble in their face.

Well I gotta say, I put the chicks in, the food in and then the water and they right away started drinking, no troubles!

I honestly believe that animals in some way sense a water source. Maybe they can smell it.

Mine did use the drip even with another source of water - I had a traditional waterer just in case. It stayed 1000 times cleaner.
