Can a baby quail get along with a chick?

I recently was able to get my hands on a baby button quail expecting two but I only received one and I have no idea what to do. She’s crying ever second and in her own safe hut until she grows, I only have 5 other chicks but they are far to big that I don’t want to try mixing them. Should I supervise them and see if I can work something out? She’s desperately lonely and I cannot find any other baby button quails I’m so lost and feel horrible for having her be alone I just don’t know what to do

I'm concerned because I have a button chick in with my coturnix chicks. I would never put a button chick in with chicken chicks.

I would look for another chick as soon as you can. In the meantime, you can try a mirror or a small stuffed toy.

Would it help to put the baby quail where it can see the chicks?
(Maybe adjacent brooders, with hardware cloth in between.)
As a temporary measure, that might help the quail feel less lonely, even though they are the wrong species.

As a long-term fix, I think @Nabiki is right: another quail chick would be the best companion.
