Can a bee sting in duck foot cause infection?

My ancona duck just got stung by a bee last week. She couldn't walk on it that day much. We removed the stinger less than an hour after it happened once we realized what was causing her sudden lameness. We put some disinfectant on it. The next day she was back to her normal self. Just today she hasn't been as active and has been sitting down more often and limping when she walks. It seems it's the same foot that's bothering her. This is the first time any of my ducks have been stung. Can it cause a systemic infection? I'm not sure why she'd be limping if it wasn't tied to getting stung. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

Anything that causes a break in the skin can lead to infection. Pick her up and examine the foot/leg that is causing her discomfort -- is there any swelling, heat or discoloration around the area of the initial injury? Do you feel any deformity or heat in any other part of the leg?

Thanks for your feedback. I checked for swelling and discoloration as you said. There's a black dot where the stinger was that is in the center of her webbing and hard to the touch (just the dot, not around it). There doesn't appear to be heat or swelling. She hasn't gotten worse today- and seems to be on her feet more. I'm thinking she's ok- but ducks can take a turn so quickly with hiding their symptoms so I was/am being cautious. Thanks again.
