Can a broiler bird live out a normal, full-length life?

I have a batch of cornish X and I would like to keep one cute little pullet. She is smaller than the rest, they are free ranging with feed tossed on the ground througout the day, tehy get lots of veggies treats. I am afraid a bit, there is another hen in the lot thats voracious. when I give feed from my hands, she GAGS at it. I'm afraid also the smaller one eventually will become like this :(

I've mentioned this a few times I this forum, but my breeder CX is close to a year now and still laying more than any of my layers. 9 chicks on the ground, including this guy, Roy Rogers, her oldest:

Although that chicken may be a Cornish X, she doesn't look like one. At least she doesn't look like mine ever did. Maybe that is why she is still around and is such a good layer. My Cornish X all looked like bowling balls on legs. She doesn't.

I misread your post. I thought the picture was of the hen, not her son.

This is my Reese and Phillip, the roo, who I'm hoping to hatch a chick and see what we'll have...
Reese is CCX. She's the only one of four still living at 5 1/2 months.
We were told the we're Orpingtons as chicks... Big surprise!
But we didn't call and they've been great Chooks. One was a roo, my HeiHei. Miss him so much. He was a gentle bull
