Can a broody goose hatch chicken eggs?

Hi, I have some chicken eggs arriving soon and my broody hen abandoned her nest!
I have a goose that is newly sitting though! Has anyone tried this? I know the chicken eggs take 21 days and the goose longer, but my idea was that around day 18 I would fence her off from the water and the gander with a little chicken wire and go get the chicks from her when they come out and leave her to the rest of her own eggs....
Anyone else done something like this?

Never done it, but in my experience, geese don't incubate eggs as faithfully as chickens. It's a wonder any of them hatch. The other thing is the weight of the goose. She may hatch a few, but she may also crush eggs or chicks. I would try to find another solution...........Pop
