Can a broody hatch a goose egg?

    Do you guys think a broody silkie can hatch a goose egg or two? Has anybody done it? Is a goose egg any different from a chicken egg (other than size) ?

    Probably not. Shelleyed2008 would be someone to contact. She has a link to hatching goose eggs. I don't know much about goose eggs but as I understand it the goose will get off the nest to get wet then return to the nest and eggs soaking them in water fairly regularly.

    I think they can, i have had many duck eggs hatched by my broodies. [​IMG]

    Sure. How long does it take a goose egg to hatch? Worth a try, I'd say....
