can a chick be raised alone?

I've got one guy that hatched on the 25th march so he's exactly 2 weeks old now and has been alone this whole time. He was a bit weak to start with so he sleeps a lot but granted when he wants attention he will start screaming including at 4 in the morning which doesn't really happen when they have company to settle them down. I'd say that is the biggest disadvantage but I am amazed just me telling him to shut up and letting him know I'm there works most of the time.
Any day now I will add him to others that are 2 weeks older than him but he couldn't walk well the first 3 days so was too small to join them.
Has he been lonely? yes but he's worked out a good routine of kicking out his food bowl when it needs refilling and is gaining strength. Any day now I am planning to move him, just need to get a coop ready to free some space. He might be a bit behind socializing but he would have been bullied if I had added him with chicks that were 2 weeks older than him so he's been alone and he's doing fine. I'm sure he won't even remember in a few months time.

I'd say you definitely could. I wouldn't recommend it though. But if it's a chick that needs saving or that you already have then I say go for it! Just make sure you hold it and give it lots of attention. I know of many people that have raised a single chick alone. And those birds have all turned out to be sweet and happy girls. Good luck! ❤️

I had a chick that I had to sepperate form the others. She was sick, and worn out from everything that happened to her before hand. The other chicks were picking on her so I had to sepperate them from her.i took care of her, and made sure she was comfortable. I gave her a stuffed animal, and made sure she had access to food and water, but she didn't eat the food. She didn't seem lonely. She passed away three days after I got her sadly. She was my favorite. Her name was puffs. Good luck with your chick! I hope he grows up to be a healthy rooster!
