Can a chicken lay 3 eggs in one day?

I have only one hen that lays brilliant white eggs; the others lay various shades of brown. I got home this afternoon to find 3 white eggs in a little pile at the back of the coop, and they definitely weren't there at chicken bedtime las night. I've had hens lay 2 eggs in a day before, but 3?! Could she have moved them from somewhere else (and why?!) Any other possible explanations?

it is possibly she laid three eggs but it is very uncommon for that to happen. There is a hen with the world record for laying 7 eggs in one day though

. It is also possibly that she laid them somewhere else and moved them to that spot.It is not unheard of for them to roll an egg onto their back or hold it in their neck to move it.
