Can a chicken live with a hernia?

Have a day old chick with what appears to be a hernia. Can this chick grow up and lay eggs with a hernia?

No, it wouldn't survive and it would be kinder to put it down if it had a hernia and you can't get the intestines back in. But I'm not really seeing a hernia here, are intestines poking out of the vent? Can you get a better picture, maybe wet the vent down a little so the fluff isn't in the way?

It actually did survive and is doing fine. That "hernia" dried up and fell off. It was by its belly button/umbilical cord.
