I know the title sounds strange, but I couldn't come up with a better way to phrase it. My #1 Roo, JoJo (1 year old BR) appears to have been demoted to "hen" status, if that makes since.
It started on Thursday when he slept with the ducks. He then spent Friday moping around and avoiding the other two Roos (Ratchet, 1 year old Polish, and Reggie, 8 month old Australorpe). Friday afternoon he got in a fight with Ratchet, Ratchet won and he chased JoJo all over the yard. Now, these Roos have lived together their whole lives and no new birds have been added.
JoJo spent the night with Ratchet's flock between two hens (the Roos normally sleep in "power" position as a call it, either above or straight in the middle of the hens, not the way JoJo was sleeping). He then came meekly out this morning, no strut or anything. He also hasn't crowed since yesterday morning.
Hormone issue? Crop and lungs are fine and everyone's been dusted for mites, plus no one else is acting like this. He is also eating, drinking and pooping like normal.
