I have one hen that almost always lays double yolkers. If they are fertilized and incubated, can they hatch?

Two yolks would also mean two embryos, wouldn't it? The eggs are larger than normal but ...

I'm doubting if I can successfully set them? Or unhealthy chicks might be the result?

Yes! There are several threads on BYC about that. One of them includes a you-tube video. It is an experience, and now that I watched someone else experience it, I think it is one my heart could not endure.
Do a search for hatching double yolk eggs. It is worth the time.

I can confirm that yes they can as I had one a few weeks ago I had to assist though as they would not have made it out alone, in fact another lady from byc has a video on you tube. Type in twin egg and it should bring it up

Thanks.

when I get back to my computer I will do that. Right now I just have my phone. Thanks so much for the info. And now I HAVE to look it up since you made it sound rather harrowing and ... Now enquiring minds want to know!
