Can a EE lay a light mint green egg and then lay a little bit darker olive color egg the next day or will she always lay the same shade of green?

I got my first egg and it was a little light green egg and then two days later there was a small light colored olive green egg. Same pullet?

What I've read is that whatever color she lays, she lays. She will always lay that color.

But mine is only 6 weeks old, so I haven't experienced it yet. Maybe someone out there has an experience different from the books...

Hi,

It has been my experience that an EE pullet/hen will always lay the same color egg. I have one that always lays olive green and one that always lays mint green. Good luck with your EE's, they are great birds!

I have one EE, she is 7 years old now, and has always laid the light green eggs.

I now have 4 more, they will start laying around Oct or Nov, so I am waiting to see what color their eggs will be!!

I have 3 EEs and one lays green eggs and the other 2 lay blue eggs. The green egg varies between light to olive green. The blue eggs vary from blue to greenish blue. I think it depends on what they have eaten. Mine get a lot of cabbage,
