Can a Golden Sex Link have some black colored feathers? (pics)

The white feathers you're seeing are called "stress" feathers. When the tail feathers, hackle feathers and wing feathers show white, you can rest assured that THEN they will be sex-links.

As of now, they look to be Production Reds. Which are good layers and MUCH more friendly in my opinion.

I think perhaps you are expecting perfection where none exists. What you are seeing is called 'smut', that is, the rise of genetic mutation in a bird as a result of previous breeding.
You really have no idea what is in the general hatchery stock. We're not talking pure bred show birds here, bred to standard. These are hybrids, less than purebred by definition.
As long as they generally fit the genotype (pattern), then as rodriguez suggests - no one cares much more.

If they are healthy and you are a good "chicken parent" that is good.

I have two golden sex-links and a red sex-link. My two golden ones have white tail feathers, but my red one has black tail feathers.

*Red Sex Links are a cross using Rhode Island Red males and a Delaware female.

*Gold Sex Links are a cross using Rhode Island Red males and a Rhode Island White female.

*Production Reds are a cross of Rhode Island Reds and New Hampshire Reds.

Yes, i totally agree with you!! I did the production red page and they are dead on my friend! Great layers, can be skittish, they don't bear confinment that well (tight corders). There feathers tend to be brittle but i have not seen that in mine. They are avareage on being brody. Created by using a RIR and NR but now a days they will breed them with others as well. Your common RIR sold in a feed store, not a RIR though. They are mutts........I love my mutts!!

LOL, this is great! First off ....i have seen employee's toss back chicks in the wrong bin, heard of them mis-labeling them and even seen people mess with the bins!! People are human they make mistakes. You have 2 production reds, you'll be OK! But as i read i see you just can't accept they are red, so call them what you want. But you'll be wrong
