Can a hawk pick up a full grown duck?

Well, I guess it shall remain a mystery. The duck is certainly not letting on about what happened.
I have to say though, in the 5 years we've had them, I've seen the jumping and wing flapping but NEVER seen them come close to flying! Or anything even remotely athletic enough to get him out of that pen.
Guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for a repeat performance!

depends on the size of hawk and size of duck.

i think it was more likely they flew out. i think a hawk would not have let him go free once he got him out of the pen.

I have 3 male runner ducks, and one just went missing this morning.

I think an eagle got him, but there is no evidence( feathers,etc. anywhere that an animal got him. any thoughts?
