I have a broody Black Star hen that I haven't been able to break. This has gone on for a month now. It's 120 to 123 out there, and I'm wondering: If I take some eggs from her sisters and let her sit on them, what will happen?
BTW, I'm not entirely sure the eggs are fertile. They are with several 4 month, 1 week old roos whom I have never seen do the deed, just some crowing. This is what the yolk of one looks like.
When I compare it to the fertile/nonfertile egg photos, I just can't tell. The circle is 3 mm wide. These are from eggs that have been in the fridge for a few days.
So what do you think? Should I put some of today's freshly laid eggs under her, or put her in a cage?
