Can a hen lay while running???

My 7 year old swears that she was chasing our Buff Orp and, as she was running, the chicken laid an egg! Is this possible??! The egg had a soft shell, but all our BO's eggs have had soft shells since she came into lay a few weeks ago.

Yes, it's possible. ...even more so because it is soft shelled. Usually they have to at least pause for a hard shelled egg.

Does she make a habit of chasing the hens?

Scared it outa her lol. Now if you had ducks they lay eggs anywhere as in the pond or right in front of you
