Can a LG heating element / thermostat handle heating...

Hi!
Fan placement will be another issue. I'm sure just the one fan won't be enough. I've a mental plan (*snort*, read 'mental') for placement of fans. I have this whole mess in the living room while I've been tinkering (it was cold out and I like to be comfortable while I ponder).
Hubby was out of town when I started this project and isn't impressed by the fact that we (*we*, haha) could soon incubate 276 eggs at a time.

Flash point. Thanks for bringing this thread back.

I completely disagree with Millebantam, I love my Petiatrics unit. It is actually the only thing that was 100% accurate in my first homemade (well, updated) incubator. I had a hell of a time getting the humidity stable.

I have since started work on "how the heck am I going to fill this thing" glass front ex-freezer, incubator. It's got a about 7 shelves that came with it. The fans still work, and it's insulated. (and heavy!)

I am sure that the 120W periatrics is not going to cut such a large space in the barn with swinging temps (wife is not going to allow this in the house) so I will add bulbs or ceramic elements to subsidize the heat.

Hi! It's going to work if I can ever get around to getting it finished.

I ended up using 2 LG heating elements side-by-side and a LG thermostat with an 'ice cube relay'. When Hubby wired it all together 'temporarily' for a trial run, I used 2 fans, one centered between each element, and the temp was good all over.

Now I just have to permanently mount the thermostats (main and back-up) and the fans, add racks, build / buy turners, etc.

I turned it upside down to mount the elements and fans and that's where it still sits --- upside down in my living room.

I might get it finished by next spring.
