Can a "meat" bird live a healthy life if it's kept alive?

My meat birds lived for 4 years. All of the hens were named Hilda. LOL I had a total of 6 birds. Three of them are listed in the pic below. They just had a dust bath, so they are a little dirty. :/

Do you still have these chickens? Did they lay? Did you hatch any eggs and if so, what was the offspring like?

No, I don't have them any more. They died a couple of years ago after reaching 4 years old. They lived longer that I would have EVER imagined. Yes, they layed double yokers. The eggs were HUGE! No, I didn't hatch any eggs because I didn't want them to breed due to possible leg problems that could have been brought upon them if the rooster would have mounted them. I didn't allow them to be anywhere near a rooster.
