I have many muscovies and they are very broody. I have an incubator but I was wondering if a muscovy hen do a better job? I am wanting to hatch sebbies and Dewlap Tolouse.

Thanks

I believe they would do a good job, but I don't know how many they could goose eggs a muscovy could incubate. If my musovy girls were broody they would have goose eggs under them. I have read muscovy ducks are also used to hatch swan eggs, which is why I got my muscovies.

OK great I will have to try that for sure. Thanks for the reassurance I might even try swan eggs. I have always wanted swans but could never afford them and I was to afraid to hatch them myself.

A friend of mine uses muscovies to hatch some of his goslings, and he usually gets better results from them than his incubator. After the gosling hatches he takes it away to brood himself though as his muscovies don't seem to want to take care of them.
