Can a pullet be egg bound AND pass soft shelled eggs?

@Fallenone05 She has been laying for just over 2 months, and had not missed a single day. I will keep an eye on her and make sure that she is eating the feed provided. I give the treats at the very end of the day before they roost- my thought process being that they will eat the feed enough throughout the day to get their nutrition then the treat is just a bedtime snack. And when I say treat, they are usually getting some blueberries, banana and some lettuce or greens of some sort, it's really not garbage for them. If this continues, I will of course cut out the treats to make sure. Thank you!

@aart Thank you, I do plan on adding in the chicken egg shells as an additional calcium choice, I just need to eat enough to be able to supply it first as I haven't been saving them.

Mix them with the OS.
How are you offering the shells?

Good news! A little bit ago Ginny laid a beautiful, normal, slightly small (for her) egg!

Bad news- in all my research and monitoring while trying to figure this out, I’m now concerned about some abnormal poops. I’ll be posting that in another thread. Thank you everyone for your help!

Yes it can happen. Egg boundness occurs when a hen pushes to hard on an egg or object to move through the vagania and the muscles swell because she strained herself and the muscles are too big and swollen for the egg to move through. It can become strained because of a soft egg because there is nothing for the powerful vaganial muscles of a hen to push against.
