Hello Everyone,
I got a pullet a month ago and I have to buy more chick starter and I still have some laying feed can I feed her that? My 3 other hen need it and I heard that the pullet can get kidney failure or something.

Thank you

they need starter food until at least 8 weeks, then you can go to grower and when they are near the age of laying you can feed the layer. Too much calcium for a little one

She is 3 or 3 1/2 months old, my feed store doesn't carry grower feed

I think she's close enough to laying to eat it. Even if she was way younger, it wouldn't hurt her for a few days until you could get to the store. They're actully pretty forgiving animals, diet-wise

After 10 weeks ours eat the same as the rest of the bunch. However we do free range a lot which keeps them from eating strictly layer feed.
