Can a rooster collar work on a hen?

Was wondering the same, especially for a 6mo pullet that just started to lay.
I have had an older hen(2-3yo) crow for a few months while on winter break.
Once I saw age I was wondering as well. Still would like to hear it though.
I do have an older hen that has been known to crow, I always got a kick out of it. Haven't heard her in a good while though.

I have never had a hen "crow." Is this actual crowing like the sound of a rooster? Or is this the "im so proud of myself for laying an egg, everyone! I layed an egg! Come look at my awesome egg!" announcement?
No it is not after laying. She typically does it when we walk out to the yard and she sees us.

It's crowing, if it's the same as my hen will occasionally do. A strangled cockerel sort of crowing, but definitely crowing.

I re- fitted her collar and it seems to be working. She was like Houdini until I secured it better. Right now she is just chatting like normal. When I go out I will video her and try to post.
Did this limit all the noise she makes? Or only some of it? I have one hen out of the 5 I got that screams her lungs out when she’s planning to lay… if anyone (human or bird) comes in the coop while she’s trying or even thinking about it she screams bloody murder at them. If they don’t leave she’ll run in and out screaming and then start the whole process all over. Sometimes this literally lasts for MULTIPLE hours. The others are almost silent. I just don’t know what to do about her. I’ve tried closing her up in the coop alone (I can’t do this every day, and it didn’t help anyway), I’ve tried putting her in my laundry room for a while to see if she’ll get tired of screaming… we had a few good days but today has been the worst. When I left running errands at 1:30 she was yelling at her fellow hens… it’s now 5 pm. Still yelling and complaining. I hate to think about getting rid of her but that’s the direction she’s heading. She also screams the egg song before, during, and after laying in addition to just screaming her head off.
