I have a girl Im treating for impacted crop. She doesn have a foul smell and the crop is squishy, not that hard. I can massage it pretty flat but the extension returns within seconds of my stopping the massage. She struggles to breath and is very weak. I have been withholding hard foods though offering her blueberries and meal worms plus some strawberry flavored yogurt. I am also giving her Save a Chick probiotics and electrolytes and some red wine vinegar before and after the crop massages.
Has anyone seen crop issues cause breathing problems?
Also, what do you think about the squishy, collapsing crop that expands quickly back to the size of a tennis ball.
My girl is a young (4 month old) bantam so her crop is really large in comparison to her body.
Oh, before I stopped solid foods she passed some of the corn she had been consuming. It was undigested.
Otherwise her poop is fairly normal.
