In the past years my flock has been visited by a bobcat. So I know what that looks like - nothing left but a few feathers, and only one in a day. But yesterday two chickens died, and I can't figure out what killed them. Whatever it was didn't do anything to them other than break their necks as far as I can tell.
I thought, maybe dog? But it's fenced in and I don't know how a dog would get in there, and if it did it would probably do more damage than that.
I do have a Tom turkey who has been pretty vicious with the chickens lately. I once saw him pick up a chicken by the neck and shake it up and down a few times. Is it really possible a turkey would kill a chicken? They free range together, but don't live in the same pens/coops. The killing happened on the range in the middle of the day. By the time I found them, they'd been dead a few hours.
