Can all Ducks fly???

My khakis couldn't fly worth a darn. Neither can my runner or my welsh harlequins. The roeun and buff I had at one time couldn't fly either. Well, they could fly for about 1 foot before they crashed. So I guess they flew like bricks.

Runners can't fly either.
But every morning when I let the gang out, my brown girl panics in case I'm coming to eat her. She runs to the back of the duck house and spreads her wings. No running start - she just takes off and flies away.
Actually, she kind of skims the floor as she heads out the door (except for the times when she crashes into the wall). Her record distance so far is about 4-6 feet, a few inches off the ground.

I have just bought a khaki Campbell about 4 days ago and have been told they don't fly

bit worried now as I have taken the top of there 4ft run.

I have watched in exasperation as my two khakis hover and fly down the run....with big smiles on there bills.

I am guessing they could not take off and fly around but they can go 20 foot distances a few feet off the ground without much trouble. They look pretty tired afterward too.

I guess it depends on your definition of flight :)

I have khakis that could care less about getting off the ground, most flutter around the yard, but I have a drake that flies around our little village with my mallards so I don't think you can make any predictions as to what they'll do!

I have a mixed flock and they will try to fly but never get more than a couple feet off the ground. I have a Cayuga female that could fly pretty well when she was a juvenile, but she hasn't flown since she got big enough to lay.
