Can Amerucaunas/Easter Eggers be barred?

Was able to snap a couple of pics this morning and have a data connection. With the previous comments I am leaning towards Barred Rock.

Upon closer observation the other two have a more greenish tint to their legs. Wanted another EE, but I can use a barred rock to breed sexlinked chicks. That way I don't have to pull one of my Hollands for it.

Eliza, that does look like a barred Rock. that dark wash on the legs is what you want to see, it indicates a pullet.

Do you have barred Hollands, too? I bought some specifically for making blue egg laying sex links, my first eggs are in the incubator and under a broody hen as I type!

I have an eclectic mix going right now. The 3 pullets and 2 polish chicks were picked up as an after thought to having ordered the Cackle Hatchery special Heritage Tom run. Decided I would rather risk having to treat an illness that to deal with starve-offs. They had been at the feed store at least a week, and now I have had them a week. So they are 2-3 weeks old at this point. I am thinking 3 weeks since they were there Wed 2 weeks ago and that is Ideal's ship date. Will ask later when I make a run to the feed store. I have 5 Barred Hollands (2 roos and 3 hens) that are 10 wks old, along with 5 Silver-penciled Egyptian Fayoumis, 5 BBR Cubalayas, and 6 Blue-Red Cubalayas. Then I have 3 Black Cochins that are 9 wks. Will start another thread on trying to sex some of my cochins and cubalayas. What did you cross with your Barred Hollands to get the blue egg layer sex links? I would be interesting in experimenting with that too.

I'm putting my barred Hollands under a splash Ameraucana rooster. If all the genetics work out correctly, the offspring should be blue sex links that lay blue eggs. I'm a little challenged, though, as some of my Hollands don't lay a nice white egg, more of a cream color. This summer I hope to be able to pull them to a separate pen one at a time to see who is laying what, but right now my extra pen is already housing two broody hens----like I need more chickens now

. But I can't let a perfectly good broody go to waste now, can I?

Where did your get your Barred Hollands? I ordered 2 thru Ideal. The order took 5 days to reach me & of course the 2 Barred Holland were 2 of the 6 that perished. I was so disappointed. It will be 3 years before I order chicks, so I can try again for the Hollands.
